State Farm, a trusted leader in the insurance industry, has always been committed to enhancing driver safety. With the introduction of the new Accident Assistance feature to Drive Safe & Save they've taken that commitment to the next level.
The new Accident Assistance feature helps the driver when immediate next steps may seem unclear during the stressful moments following a collision. It will guide the driver through the next steps, including making sure everyone is safe, calling the authorities, arranging for a tow-truck if needed and helping get a claim started. In the event there is no response, and they are left unable to respond to outreach, a wellness check will be requested at the scene of the detected accident.
The early reviews are very positive. Customer surveys and interviews indicate how they felt supported, cared for and provided comfort and ease in a time of distress.
Drive Safe & Save
We’re all looking for ways to save money, and one of the best ways to save on your State Farm car insurance is by signing up for Drive Safe & Save. Our driving program collects basic driving information to help you put money back in your pocket. Enjoy a 10% discount* just for enrolling, then up to 30% in savings** based on how you drive. Customers will also receive valuable feedback on their driving habits and understand where there’s room for improvement.
A 2023 analysis from Cambridge Mobile Telematics revealed:
- Drivers who get feedback on distracted driving are 25% less distracted.
- Drivers who are highly engaged with the app are 57% less distracted and reduce distraction by 20%.
- Risky drivers who are highly engaged with the app have shown improvement in driving habits that include a reduction in speeding by 27% and hard braking by 9%.
Drive Safe & Save savings not only provide financial benefits to our customers but also encourage responsible driving practices that contribute to overall road safety.
How Accident Assistance works
Once enrolled in Drive Safe & Save, ensure the Accident Assistance feature is turned on.
Accident Assistance will notify you if an accident is detected.
You'll have 60 seconds to respond to the app. If you do not respond, you may receive a call.
If you do not acknowledge the app and/or phone call, a wellness check may be initiated by law enforcement.
Once you acknowledge that you've been in accident, you will be asked if you need and ambulance. If you answer YES, you will get a call to verify. If you answer NO to an ambulance, you'll then be asked if you need tow assistance.
In addition, you can begin the steps to file a claim if needed.
