Recognized by the American Red Cross: A Collaboration Built on Showing Up

When disaster strikes, the American Red Cross is often the first organization on the ground, opening shelters, serving meals, and helping families begin to recover. Sustaining that response requires collaboration and a commitment for the long haul.

On April 15, the Red Cross recognized State Farm® with the 2026 Mission Leader Award for its remarkable support and sustained commitment to the mission. This annual award honors an organization whose leadership and commitment has driven extraordinary results in advancing the organization’s humanitarian work to prevent and alleviate suffering in the face of emergencies. State Farm President and CEO Jon Farney accepted the award on behalf of State Farm associates, agents, and the communities they serve.

Since 2024, State Farm has been a Red Cross Mission Leader, contributing more than $3 million annually to disaster preparedness, relief and recovery. That support takes several forms:

• Funding disaster preparedness and response through the Annual Disaster Giving Program
• Sponsoring the Red Cross Emergency App, Be Red Cross Ready, and the Home Fire Campaign
• Donating 15 vehicles in 2025, including Emergency Response Vehicles for local teams
• Participating in Sound the Alarm, an initiative that has helped install more than 3.1 million smoke alarms and is credited with saving at least 2,577 lives
• Hosting 33 blood drives in 2025, collecting more than 860 lifesaving donations from State Farm associates
• Offering year-round employee gift matching to amplify associate giving

Preparedness and recovery are neighborhood work. Whether it’s a smoke alarm installed on a Saturday morning, blood donation given at a local drive, or a family sheltered after a wildfire, the collaboration between State Farm and the Red Cross shows up where it matters most.
