State Farm® is the first property & casualty insurance company worldwide to achieve TRUE certifications for two of its facilities, a testament to its commitment to uncovering operational efficiencies, responsibly using resources and environmental sustainability.

The company’s Multi-Regional Services Facilities (MRSFs) exceeded the 90%+ landfill diversion goal to become TRUE certified in late 2023. Central, located in Illinois, achieved an impressive 96% diversion rate and East, located in South Carolina, achieved an outstanding 96.3% diversion rate

A cross-functional group of Zero-Waste Champions were critical in reaching this milestone, implementing 30 waste strategy improvements in 2023, such as right-sizing waste bins, adjusting hauler schedules and tracking pallet reuse.

David Gwarda, Corporate Executive, shared, “State Farm is committed to reducing waste throughout our campuses, sending less waste to landfills, and recycling, reusing or refurbishing materials. It is one more way we are showing how being a good neighbor starts with us.”

Practicing environmentally sustainable behaviors in the workplace and in the community helps build a better future for everyone. More than that, it's what you'd expect from a good neighbor.
