The new Accident Assistance feature helps the driver when immediate next steps may seem unclear during the stressful moments following a collision.  It will guide the driver through the next steps, including making sure everyone is safe, calling the authorities, arranging for a tow-truck if needed and helping get a claim started. In the event there is no response, and they are left unable to respond to outreach, a wellness check will be requested at the scene of the detected accident.

The early reviews are very positive. Customer surveys and interviews indicate how they felt supported, cared for and provided comfort and ease in a time of distress.

Drive Safe & Save

How Accident Assistance works

Once enrolled in Drive Safe & Save, ensure the Accident Assistance feature is turned on.

Accident Assistance will notify you if an accident is detected. 

You'll have 60 seconds to respond to the app. If you do not respond, you may receive a call. 

If you do not acknowledge the app and/or phone call, a wellness check may be initiated by law enforcement.  

Once you acknowledge that you've been in accident, you will be asked if you need and ambulance. If you answer YES, you will get a call to verify. If you answer NO to an ambulance, you'll then be asked if you need tow assistance.

In addition, you can begin the steps to file a claim if needed.
