$2,500 Grants for Innovative Teaching Ideas

State Farm® Teacher Assist

Whether in the classroom or working virtually, teachers are being asked to develop new methods for helping students learn. To celebrate and reward original approaches to teaching during the pandemic, State Farm is here to assist!

Teachers in New York state are invited to submit their innovative teaching ideas. State Farm Teacher Assist will accept 200 submissions and select 40 grant recipients. Each teacher grantee will receive a $2,500 to implement or support their creative projects.

The program's application period opens Jan. 11, 2021 at 4 p.m (local time). It concludes with receipt of the 200th submission or Jan. 15 at 11:59 p.m. Teachers can prepare now. Go to the website to download and read the rules and develop answers to the following application questions:

  • If you receive a $2,500 grant, how will you use the funding to resolve your challenges?

  • What opportunities will this funding help your students realize?

  • How can the program be replicated by teachers at other schools?

The State Farm Review Committee will score the first 200 submissions to identify 40 winners. The winning teachers will be announced the week of Feb. 1, 2021, on the State Farm Teacher Assist website. The teacher’s school will receive the $2,500 grant for the teacher to implement their ideas.

“We hope this program becomes a catalyst for innovation. It's a way to support teachers as they address and conquer formidable challenges," said Annette Martinez, State Farm Senior Vice President. “Teachers will now have an assist in implementing their creative classroom projects.”
