Be Prepared: Transform Your Trunk for Holiday Travel

Millions of Americans are getting ready to hit the road, traveling both near and far to visit family and friends to celebrate the holidays. Before you hit the highway, check out these helpful tips from State Farm.

Take time out to do a trunk transformation, cleaning up your cargo area or trunk and getting rid of the “junk”. This will help you make room for an emergency kit, which won’t take up much space.

Assemble a kit with our list of suggested items, packing them in a small canvas gym bag or storage bin with a lid. This will help keep emergency items together, making them easy to find when you need them most. If your vehicle has an open cargo area, be sure to secure the kit to avoid loose items becoming projectiles in a crash.

Share this information with new teen drivers, helping them gain experience and confidence. Let them help assemble emergency kits and discuss how items might be used.

Always buckle up, avoid distractions and have a safe trip!
