State Farm® Mutual Begins Issuing Dividend Payments
Dividend payments underscore State Farm Mutual’s customer-first focus and ability to provide value directly to customers
State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm Mutual) has begun issuing payments to qualifying auto customers as part of its one-time $5 billion cash-back dividend, the largest in the company’s 100-plus-year history. Millions of customers have already received their individual dividend payments, with more on the way.
As a mutual company with a customer-first focus, State Farm Mutual is uniquely positioned to provide value directly to customers. The dividend is being distributed in waves to eligible customers across more than 49 million State Farm Mutual auto vehicles. Each customer’s payment is based on a percentage of the premium paid for each qualifying policy in 2025. Percentages vary by state, ranging from 4% to 10%.
Qualifying customers will be notified of their pending dividend payment by either an email from “donotreply@e.sfdividend.com” or a letter in the mail. Please keep an eye out for communication regarding the dividend payment. Customers who already have an email address registered with State Farm will receive an email with instructions on how to log into the State Farm dividend payment portal and select their preferred method of payment. Customers who do not have an email address registered with State Farm will automatically receive a check in the mail.
The State Farm dividend payment portal powered by Verita can be accessed at sfdividend.com. For payment questions or to learn more about state-specific dates, customers can visit sfdividend.com or call the Dividend Customer Contact Center at 1-888-808-9532. Because the distribution covers more than 49 million auto vehicles, the payment process will take several months to be completed nationwide.
“As a mutual company with a customer-first focus, State Farm Mutual is able to provide value directly to our customers while maintaining financial strength to keep our promises in the future. That translated this year to lower auto rates and cash back in the form of a $5 billion policyholder dividend.” – Jon Farney, State Farm Mutual President and CEO.
For more than 100 years, State Farm’s mission has been to help people manage the risks of everyday life, including research and programs focused on improving driver behavior and safety. As part of that work, State Farm continues to invest in its national distracted driving awareness program grounded in consumer research to help reduce accidents and make roads safer.
Dividend payments are retrospective and do not affect future auto rates, which are based on expected future costs and monitoring trends to appropriately match price to risk.
