State Farm® Announces New Auto Rate Reduction for South Carolina Drivers
More than -8% Reduction and Cash Back
2026 begins with welcome news for State Farm auto customers across the state of South Carolina. The company announces its latest rate decrease brings auto rates down more than an average of -8%. New and existing State Farm customers began seeing the savings in their auto policies February 16. Our overall reduction amounts to more than $127 million in lower total annual premiums for our South Carolina customers (private passenger cars), averaging more than $100 in savings per vehicle. This amounts to combined auto rate decreases of approximately 14% in the last year for South Carolina drivers.
“We are pleased to help our customers save money, combined with the personalized attention of our local agents and first-rate customer service,” says State Farm Senior Vice President Allyson Watts. Recent trends involving less costly automobile damage claims have allowed State Farm to lower auto rates.
In addition to the auto insurance rate reductions, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm Mutual) also announced it is paying cash back to mutual auto customers through a dividend. Eligible State Farm Mutual auto customers in South Carolina who had a policy in 2025 will receive an average payment of $131 per vehicle, totaling $151 million in total payments statewide. We encourage customers to contact their agent to discuss additional ways to save even more.
