State Farm® Receives Approval for 6.2% Auto Rate Reduction in California
The California Department of Insurance has approved the State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance Company (State Farm Mutual) request to reduce personal auto insurance rates by 6.2%. The rate cut will be effective May 8th for new business and renewals.
This is welcome news for customers, helping us continue to serve Californians with quality coverage and more competitive rates. The change will vary by customer depending on their specific policy.
This auto rate reduction in California reflects State Farm’s effort to provide value to our customers. State Farm Mutual has lowered auto rates in recent months across the country and will return value to customers through the recently announced $5 billion cash back dividend to auto customers.
We encourage customers to talk with their local agent if they have any questions about this rate decrease, the dividend, or other discounts and ways to save.
State Farm has proudly served California since 1928 as the leading auto and homeowners insurer in California (State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, State Farm General Insurance Company). This includes nearly 2,000 licensed state agents who continue to offer products and services every day among nearly 7.9 million policies and accounts in the Golden State.
