The State Farm Catastrophe Response Team® has deployed to California to help residents recover. Our catastrophe response includes a dedicated, mobile workforce, specially trained to handle catastrophe claims and prepared to go anywhere in the country. Our on-the-ground team is fully equipped to respond to our customers’ needs in the face of these devastating wildfires.

Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the wildfires in Ventura and Riverside counties. State Farm is on the ground actively helping customers.

Our priority is taking care of our customers’ needs and helping people start recovery as quickly as possible. When it is safe for customers to return home, we encourage them to reach out to us if they have damage and get the claim process started.

Tips for Residents with Damage

Look over your property when it’s safe. Take photos of any damage so you can share them with your claim specialist.

Put safety first. Don’t go into damaged buildings until they’re declared safe. Watch for debris, and wear sturdy shoes or boots, long sleeves, and gloves.

Check for hidden damage. Look for signs of structural problems in your home or apartment, not just obvious damage.

Photograph everything. Take pictures inside and outside your home before you clean up or start repairs.

Stop damage from getting worse. If you can do it safely, make temporary fixes like covering a damaged area with a tarp. Save receipts for anything you buy.

Report damage as soon as you can. Contact your insurance company to start a home or auto claim and get the recovery process moving.

Be careful choosing a contractor. Get written estimates and more than one bid before you decide.
